Antalya, coast to canyon.
Kaleiçi’s harbour at golden hour, whitewater on the Köprülü, the white terraces of Pamukkale and the boats out to Suluada. What each one is really like, what it costs, and where to book.
Seven the whole coast agrees on.
The ones almost everyone ends up doing, and for good reason: a raft through the Köprülü gorge, a slow gulet out to Suluada’s clear water, the long day west to Pamukkale’s terraces. Start here and the rest of the coast falls into place.

White terraces, warm water, one long day.
It is three hours each way to Pamukkale, so the early pickup earns its keep: barefoot down the travertine pools, a wade through Cleopatra’s warm spring, the ruins of Hierapolis on the ridge above, then the drive home before dark. Most coaches build in lunch. Pick the tour that gives you real time on the terraces, not twenty rushed minutes.
Which Köprülü day is yours?
Nearly every Antalya trip includes a day up in the Taurus, and the operators bundle it a dozen different ways. Here are the three shapes that day takes. Pick the one that sounds like you, and every trip behind it is already reviewed and priced.
Just the river
The rafting purist
5 - 10 hours · from $26 · 3,260 reviews
Fourteen kilometres of the Köprüçay through the gorge, cold and clear off the Taurus snowmelt, with the Roman bridge overhead at the start. No add-ons, no filler, just the water. Take this one if the rapids are the whole point and you want the longest time in the boat.

Everything at once
The full combo
5 - 10 hours · from $26 · 3,260 reviews
Rafting, then a jeep bounce up the forest track, a zipline over the canyon and often a quad or buggy leg too, all stitched into one long pickup-to-drop-off day with lunch by the river. The best value if you want the whole adventure menu and do not mind a packed schedule.

Dust, not rapids
The dry adventure
5 - 10 hours · from $26 · 3,260 reviews
Trade the river for a quad or buggy convoy through the Taurus pine and the dry creek beds above Antalya, dust flying and a swim stop on the way back. The pick for anyone who would rather grip a throttle than a paddle, or is travelling with kids who cannot raft yet.

The coast keeps going after sunset.
Out at Belek, the Land of Legends runs a nightly parade of illuminated boats and fountains. Under the stars at the ancient Aspendos theatre, the Fire of Anatolia troupe dances on two thousand years of stone. And the last gulets drift back into the marina just as the Kaleiçi lights come on. The evenings here are worth a booking of their own.
The sea does the heavy lifting.
A wooden gulet noses out past the cliffs to Suluada, the cove locals call the Turkish Maldives, where the water turns the shade the brochures oversell but this time it earns. Swim stops, lunch on deck, and a long doze in the sun on the way back.
Earn a proper hammam.
After a day in the canyon or on a quad, an Ottoman bathhouse is the correct reward: heat on the marble göbektasi slab, a foam wash that leaves you weightless, then an oil massage you will think about for a week. Most include hotel pickup, so you can arrive already half asleep.

Rome never really left this coast.
Aspendos still holds the best-preserved Roman theatre anywhere, so intact it stages concerts every summer. Perge lays out its colonnaded street and stadium in the plain nearby, and up in the pines Termessos clings to a ridge the armies of Alexander decided not to bother with. Go with a guide who can put the stones back into buildings.
Pick your stretch of the coast.
Antalya travels in set pieces, and each one is worth a day. Kaleiçi for the harbour and the old walls. The Köprülü for the whitewater. Suluada for the clear coves. Pamukkale for the day the whole trip turns out to be about.
What kind of day is it?
Twelve ways to fill a day on this coast, from whitewater in the gorge to a marble hammam. Pick the kind of day you want and the best of each is waiting underneath.
The best days start on the road.
Not all of it is in Antalya. Pamukkale’s white terraces sit three hours west, the sunken Lycian city of Kekova is a boat ride east past Demre and Myra, and the eternal flames of the Chimaera still burn on the mountainside above Olympos after dark.
Three days, if that’s all you get.
You cannot see all of Antalya in one trip, but three days covers the old town, the canyon and the one big day west. This is the order to take them in, jet lag and all.
Day 1
Old town and the harbour
Wander Kaleiçi’s lanes and Hadrian’s Gate, ride the cable car up the cliff for the coast view, then a short boat out past Düden falls where they tumble straight into the sea.
Plan day one →
Day 2
Up into the Taurus
The morning pickup climbs into the pines to the Köprülü gorge: raft the cold water under the Roman bridge, lunch by the river, then a zipline or quad leg before the ride back down.
Plan day two →
Day 3
The long day west
Save it for a clear day: the early coach to Pamukkale, barefoot on the white terraces, a warm float in Cleopatra’s pool and the ruins of Hierapolis, back on the coast by dark.
